PAGE Foundation Mission and History
Mission
As a 501(c)(3) organization, the PAGE Foundation supports PAGE, encouraging and receiving charitable gifts that advance the association's core business and programs such as the PAGE STAR Student and Teacher Program, PAGE Foundation Scholarships, the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades, and the PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon.
History
The PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators) Foundation was established in 1985. The foundation assists aspiring and existing Georgia educators with scholarship opportunities and supports PAGE in its efforts to provide career-long professional learning opportunities for educators. The PAGE Foundation also honors outstanding students and educators and encourages academic excellence through PAGE's competitive programs such as PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR), the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades and the PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon. To learn more about these programs, visit the PAGE website.
PAGE Foundation Scholarships
PAGE Foundation Scholarships are awarded to eligible PAGE members who aspire to become teachers or to veteran teachers who wish to enhance their academic careers. 2001 brought the first Honor Your Favorite Teacher endowed scholarship, given by an anonymous donor in honor of Betty J. Phillips, a Bibb County school board member and life-long educator.
